Good Writing Begins with Ordered Love
Cars, love, and the order of things
If you’ve ever given a gift that didn’t land quite right, or received one that felt ‘off’ in some way, perhaps something in the relationship was disordered.
Maybe the gift was tainted with impure motives.
It wasn’t just a gift to be enjoyed but something the gift-giver used toward their own desired end.
That was the case for my friend Tiffany, who once received what I thought was the pinnacle of a cool-girl car, a VW Cabriolet Rabbit. (Remember those?)
It was a good gift, but what she really wanted was something far better.
Her story has stuck with me for years, and I was reminded of it this week as I thought about how our rightly ordered loves influence everything we do — even the words we put on the page.
This is for writers and anyone who wants to love God and others and to let that love overflow into their creative endeavors.
That means this is for you!
Enjoy!
